Book Reviewing – At A Very Young Age

Tristan, aged 7, has his own Facebook page set up and on it he reviews a variety of books. One of them was my Clever Dad and the Space Rocket. He and his brother enjoyed colouring in the illustrations and when he gets time he will review my other stories. Please like his Facebook page as he is a wonderful example of  children should be at that age. Get the children reading more and watching less.

Tristan’s Facebook Page

Apart from the above mentioned stories I have three other stories out there. They are:

Clever Dad and the Pirate Ship

Busy Bee and the Endangered Meadow

Brown Bear’s Big Day Out

Each sale will generate a donation to a good cause. At the moment I am supporting Plantlife and Butterfly Conservation in the UK but am trying to find others to link up with.

Book Review – Clever Dad and the Space Rocket by Tristan Aged Seven

I don’t remember how I got to know about Tristan apart from that it was through Facebook. It just so happens that the idea for my character Tristan in my Clever Dad series of books is based on a Tristan that we knew back in December 1999. He must now be in his 20s. This Tristan likes the coincidence that the story’s main character has the same name. Please like his page as he deserves encouraging.

My First Official Book Reviewer – Tristan

My books will be reviewed by my first official reviewer. His name is Tristan and he is only six years old but is already fluent in both English and French. Over twenty years of practice and I still cannot understand French properly or speak it for that matter. The coincidence in this story is that two of my books, Clever Dad and the Pirate Ship and Clever Dad and the Space Rocket feature a boy called Tristan. I hope that the real Tristan likes them.

You can find all my stories on Amazon or on our website, www.junagarhmedia.co.uk.

Clever Dad and the Space Rocket

This is a story I wrote and published in 2018 for children between 4 and 8 years old. It is available on the Kindle and devices that run the Kindle app. It is also available as an A4 story and colouring in Print on Demand book from Amazon. In the Print on Demand version and also the pdf available from  Junagarh Media  for PCs/MACs and tablets that can read pdf files all the illustrations are repeated at the end of the book for colouring in.

This is the synopsis:

Read all about how Clever Dad builds his son Tristan a rocket that he soon finds himself blasting off in, on a journey to the moon. His adventure is aided by the ship’s computer who teaches Tristan some facts about space travel and informs him of the mission to survey the moon for possible landing sites.

They discuss whether the moon is made of cheese because back home there is a cheese shortage as some of the cows seem to have gone missing. On the way to the moon they overtake a cow and find out why, as in the old nursery rhyme, it decided to jump over the moon.

The cow was not alone and Tristan and the rocket’s computer discover that none of the cows that decide to jump ever come back. Tristan decides with the help of the computer to find out why the cows are mysteriously disappearing.

My first three published books

Publishing on the Amazon KDP platform is easy and has allowed me to publish three stories for young children.

The Amazon KDP platform is quite amazing. I was made redundant earlier in 2018 and in the time since then I have been able to finish off three of my stories. Not only will they run on the Kindle and devices that run the Kindle application but Amazon has an excellent Print on Demand service. This has allowed me to create A4 story and colouring in books that can fully use the b&w line drawings both within the text and at the end of the story. The titles of these stories are:

Clever Dad and the Pirate Ship

Brown Bear’s Big Day Out

Clever Dad and the Space Rocket

I’m now working on a story called Busy Bee and the Endangered Meadow and hope to be able to publish it shortly.3 books IMG_0938
