Here’s an illustration from a new story that I’m working on called Melanie and the Pot of Jam. The intention is to publish at the end of the first quarter or during the second quarter of 2023.

It’s coming along great with the wonderful illustrations of Nicola Bailey the illustrator (@NicolaButterfli). She has worked on a number of books with her two daughters. In this illustration Melanie has been let out of the pot of jam and has escaped from the kitchen. Unfortunately, her extra weight is bending the small twig that she landed on.

Melanie finds that because of the weight she has put on she cannot fly very fast but she sees an open window and tries to make her escape.
