Where’s Basil? – He’s joined the rebellion, Extinction Rebellion – Brown Bear’s Big Day Out

Brown Bear’s Big Day Out is a story about a bear in a zoo that puts on a disguise so that he can escape and visit a funfair called Dizzyland. It’s about looking at people in depth and not being afraid because they look different from you. So Basil looks like a man when disguised but is still the same friendly and hero bear in this case once his disguise slips.

The story contains illustrations throughout the text. These are then repeated at the back of the printed book so that younger children can colour them in. One of them can be seen below.

I think that this is Mahatma Gandhi and the street art has some further tagging or graffiti added to it. Vevey, Switzerland. If you are thinking of beautiful places to visit Switzerland offers a wide variety of stunning scenery and locations. The public transport system makes getting around very easy. 14th September 2009.

Panel discussion, Jobs, Justice and Climate, London

Tony Benn and Jeremy Corbyn were on it but I don’t recognise the other two..

This was a protest organised by Put People First after the the financial crash. Not a lot has changed unfortunately. Even during the corona virus pandemic the rich have got richer while countless struggle to survive and many don’t. CO2 in the atmosphere has risen hugely since this photo was taken as has precarious employment such as zero hour contracts. 28th March 2009.
