CO2caine fossil fuels addiction – organic cotton T-shirt

A T-shirt from our Scientist and Philosopher range. The second in our CO2caine series.

This T-shirt based on the CO2caine T-shirt displays the source of our problems, the burning of fossil fuels, effectively since the start of the industrial revolution. The human race is addicted to burning fossil fuels to the detriment to life on Earth. The level now seen in the atmosphere has not been at such a level since before the start of this current series of ice ages around 2.58 million years ago. The implications are that parts of the planet will become uninhabitable and there will be mass extinctions of different forms of life which may include Homo sapiens.

Check out how these products are made using organic cotton. We need to live in not just a sustainable way but one that causes the least environmental loading on the planet. You can even send these items back to be made into new things when you have finished with them.

Where’s Basil? – At home getting ready for his trip to Switzerland – Brown Bear’s Big Day Out

Brown Bear’s Big Day Out is a story about a bear in a zoo that puts on a disguise so that he can escape and visit a funfair called Dizzyland. It’s about looking at people in depth and not being afraid because they look different from you. So Basil looks like a man when disguised but is still the same friendly and hero bear in this case once his disguise slips.

The story contains illustrations throughout the text. These are then repeated at the back of the printed book so that younger children can colour them in. One of them can be seen below.

Basil packing his bag for his trip with his bear essentials. 1st August 2012.

The book is available globally from Amazon in both printed and ebook formats. This is the .co.uk link, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Brown-Bears-Big-Day-Adventures/dp/1980868859/, and this is for .com, https://www.amazon.com/Brown-Bears-Big-Day-Out-ebook/dp/B086DSF5N7/.

In the library – an illustration from Busy Bee and the Silent Spring

In this illustration from Busy Bee and the Silent Spring, named after Rachel Carson’s ground breaking book, the bees have broken into the village library. They didn’t actually break in because a small window was left open and they went to look up the meaning of the words that they had seen on the containers they found in the dark barn. A complicated story perhaps? The story is written for the 8-12 year old reader but a number of adults have also enjoyed reading it.

Some teachers thought that there is enough in the story to form the basis for a whole curriculum of outdoor and nature learning and all wrapped up in a story, children will love. The thing they liked best is the multitude of topics covered, all which are such important starting points for vital conversations with young people. The book has also been well received with the Scottish Beekeepers Association putting a copy of it along with the first book, Busy Bee and the Endangered Meadow, in their Edinburgh library.

The story is available as an ebook or in printed form globally on different Amazon websites and here are a couple of links https://www.amazon.co.uk/Busy-Silent-Spring-Paul-No%C3%ABl/dp/B088JFN1ZV/ and https://www.amazon.com/Busy-Silent-Spring-Paul-No%C3%ABl/dp/B088JFN1ZV/.

Ban fox hunting – organic cotton bag

I have just added the shopping bag version of the design to our website. Children often have but not always, more empathy towards animals. Using a Teemill base image we have made this shopping bag. Fox hunting and indeed any hunting belongs in our barbaric past. It’s time the human primate species grew up and evolved. The fox is a beautiful wild creature but because it’s an inconvenience to some they think that it should be killed. We as humanity need to learn to live with nature as we do not own this planet and therefore must learn to share it with nature’s rich diversity.

Check out how these products are made using organic cotton. We need to live in not just a sustainable way but one that causes the least environmental loading on the planet. You can even send these items back to be made into new things when you have finished with them.

The shopping bag is available here, https://junagarh-media.teemill.com/product/ban-fox-hunting-v1b-shopping-bag/. It’s also available as a print on clothing products.

Tristan and the chameleons – an illustration from Clever Dad and the Pirate Ship

Tristan is seen here trying to persuade the group of chameleons to help disguise the elephant to make him look like a fire breathing dragon. Why? To scare away the pirates digging up the island of Polysnezzia of course. The pirates are digging so many holes that the island might sink.

This story is the first in my Clever Dad series and was followed by Clever Dad and the Space Rocket. There are illustrations throughout the text of Pirate Ship that are repeated at the back in the printed book version for younger children to colour in.

The printed and ebook versions are available globally from Amazon. This is the .co.uk link, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Clever-Pirate-Ship-Paul-No%C3%ABl/dp/1980869561/ and this is the .com link https://www.amazon.com/Clever-Pirate-Ship-Paul-No%C3%ABl-ebook/dp/B08BPLDLL6/ for example.

Protect our forests – organic cotton T-shirt

This is an organic cotton T-shirt from our Scientist and Philosopher range.

Trees form a large part of the planet’s life support and regulatory systems that we and all other creatures depend on. We must stop cutting them down. It’s not just a question of planting new trees to replace old growth forests as they are more than just trees being complex evolved ecosystems. If you read the science press you will find that daily there are reports of further damage to these ultimately crucial parts of the Earth’s ecosystems and physical processes.

Based on a Teemill image. Check out how these products are made using organic cotton. We need to live in not just a sustainable way but one that causes the least environmental loading on the planet. You can even send these items back to be made into new things when you have finished with them.

Also available as a shopping bag and will also be available in sizes for children soon. This is the link for the adult T-shirt https://junagarh-media.teemill.com/product/protect-our-forests-v1b/.

Following a smoky number 58 local bus, leaving Asuncion, Paraguay

While we are transitioning to alternatively powered public transport it will be a very long time before the whole world rids itself of polluting fossil fuel powered vehicles. We need to ask why are people needing to travel so much especially when Paris is a leading city implementing the 15 minute principal under the direction of Anne Hidalgo and advice of Carlos Morena. Paris is becoming an example to the the rest of the planet although private car owners are unlikely to be happy but we must all be prepared to change if we are to slow down climate change. 30th November 2009.

Bee smart – extinction is forever – organic cotton T-shirt

Bees – Bee smart – Extinction is forever design. Bee species number over 20,000 and are our most famous pollinators. Some species are really struggling because of different reasons but one notable one is the use of pesticides. This isn’t an illustration from our Busy Bee books but one of them tells how some clever bees take on a farmer using banned pesticides. The book is called, Busy Bee and the Silent Spring and is available on Amazon. This T-shirt is based on a Teemill image. A T-shirt from our Scientist and Philosopher range.
