Part 52 of my A Moment of Our Time. It’s not in the book yet and is in a different format to the other parts of the book.

So this is the end of my long piece entitled A moment of our time in which I have tried to describe all that happens in any one given moment of time. Not a second because a second is too long. A moment in which all the matter and energy in our known universe goes through some sort of change. This last section covers the very small. Having read it again I can see that there are plenty of things that I could have added to the work. One day when I have more than just a moment I will hopefully go back and revisit it.

Revisiting part 50 of my A Moment of Our Time and humans now number at least 7.9 billion and counting.

Getting very close to the end of my long piece of work. How many of Earth’s 7.8 billion plus inhabitants ever consider the universe? How many of them have been educated sufficiently enough to understand what it is?

Universe

Think about the Earth moving around the sun at that moment

Think about how far the Earth has moved around the sun at that moment

Think about how far the Moon has moved around the Earth at that moment

Think about the other planets revolving around the sun at that moment

Think about the other moons spinning around those other planets at that moment

Think about the other objects revolving around the sun at that moment

Think about the other asteroids revolving around the sun at that moment

Think about the other comets revolving around the sun at that moment

Think about the sun revolving around the centre of the galaxy at that moment

Think about how far the sun has moved around the centre of the galaxy at that moment

Think about how much hydrogen has been turned in to helium in the sun at that moment

Think about how far all the celestial objects have moved relative to each other at that moment

Think about how much the universe has expanded at that moment

Think about the other stars in the galaxy at that moment

Think about the other galaxies in the universe at that moment

If we think of a moment it is quickly forgotten and we move on

The Earth, we take it for granted and that it never changes. How wrong we are.

Earth

Think about the different parts of the planet at that moment

Think about it being light at that moment

Think about it being hot at that moment

Think about it being cold at that moment

Think about it being dark somewhere else at that moment

Think about the sun rising somewhere at that moment

Think about the sun setting somewhere at that moment

Think about the moon rising somewhere at that moment

Think about the stars shining at that moment

Think about the clouds at that moment

Think about the clouds obscuring the sun somewhere at that moment

Think about all the clouds forming at that moment

Think about all the storms at that moment

Think about all the rain drops falling at that moment

Think about all the rainbows at that moment

Think about all the snowflakes falling at that moment

Think about all the lightning striking at that moment

Think about all the wind blowing at that moment

Think about all the snow melting at that moment

Think about all the avalanches cascading at that moment

Think about all the rivers flowing at that moment

Think about all the streams flowing at that moment

Think about all the beaches at that moment

Think about all the coral reefs at that moment

Think about all the mangrove swamps at that moment

Think about all the dust swirling at that moment

Think about all the grass swaying at that moment

Think about all the waves crashing at that moment

Think about all the currents in the seas and oceans at that moment

Think about all the sounds being heard at that moment

Think about all the mountains at that moment

Think about all the desserts at that moment

Think about all the grains of sand at that moment

Think about all the sand dunes being slowly moved at that moment

Think about all the volcanoes at that moment

Think about all the hydrothermal vents at that moment

Think about all the continents at that moment

Think about all the countries on those continents at that moment

Think about all the lakes at that moment

Think about all the volcanoes at that moment

Think about all the glaciers at that moment

Think about all the seas and oceans at that moment

Think about all the tectonic plates slowly moving at that moment

Think about all the grains of sand on all the beaches at that moment

Think about all the gusts and breezes of wind blowing at that moment

Think about the Earth spinning at that moment

So much changes in just a moment passing

Think about all those missiles aimed at each other at that moment

Think about all those unexploded munitions around the world at that moment

Think about all those submarines at that moment

Think about all those tanks at that moment

Think about all those missile launchers at that moment

Think about all those civilians caught up in conflict at that moment

Part 46 continues with the theme of transport and in this section it’s about shipping. During the corona virus pandemic seafarers were treated very badly and there are signs that to recover lost money that their contracts will become worse. Apart from the extract I’m going to leave the link I included yesterday regarding the 15 minute town and city concept that is being implemented in Paris as this will be crucial for our sustainability.

The media is full of how EVs will be the thing to rapidly phase out fossil fuel powered vehicles but the resources and environmental damage their extraction causes is often in far away lands away from the glossy marketing and advertising. There isn’t enough planet to go round so EVs are not the solution.
