You may have drunk the drink but where’s that bottle now? Polluting the environment somewhere or has it broken down to small particles that you are now breathing in? We not only have to stop burning fossil fuels but we also need to drastically reduce plastic use as well. Local buses and our coach pass global food corporation advertising. Global corporations are not charities. What do they bring to countries apart from a way of extracting wealth. The inequality of the world can be seen quite clearly here. While some travel around in vehicles that cost more than this ice cream seller will probably earn in a lifetime. He will also suffer far worse health breathing in the traffic fumes. Which is why we must redesign our cities where people don’t have to travel so far and where they use public transport. Passing a local bus travelling in the opposite direction, Asuncion, Paraguay

Basically all cities are the same in that they are beset with traffic jams. Over the years city populations have boomed as has the number of people driving in association with ever larger cars so how can that work in a city where roads are the same size? It doesn’t. Which is why we must redesign our cities where people don’t have to travel so far and where they use public transport. The shopping centres are as good if not better than those in other countries yet only a percentage of the population can afford to go to them. They are, as all shopping centres are, full of goods made with exploited and lowly paid labour.
